3. Myrkdalen Mountain Resort - other accommodation
Cabins | Myrkdalen Mountain Resort also offers accommodation in untraditional units. Now you have a unique opportunity to sleep in an old barn, surrounded by history and beautiful nature.
In the forest below the express lift Storhaugekspressen, you'll find Tråfjosen, a barn where the cows in summer used to be gathered and milked in the olden days. The barn has been empty over 40 years, but now it will be used again - as accommodation for people.
Inside the stalls are still intact, with beautiful slabs of slate to separate one from the other. In the south end we have installed a module, where one to four people can sleep.
The module is equipped with basic beds, japanese inspired mats, two foam matresses, candles and a coffee pot. Tråfjosen has no tap water, electricity, food or cooking equipment.
When you check in at Myrkdalen Hotel, you`ll get the key for Tråfjosen, a map to find the unit and drinking water. Remember to bring a large backpack with room for the drinking water. Please bring your own sleeping bag, warm clothing and food. You may also bring your own camping stove for cooking, but please note that for safety reasons you need to cook outside the cabin.
